Alto flute
This piece for solo alto flute was inspired by the true story of a young Chinese boy searching for the spirits of his ancestors. The wandering, playful flute line evokes images of a different time and place. The musician is encouraged to infuse his or her interpretation into the performance as the score is marked “freely”.
