This single choir version of Jeff's Rainfall was commissioned by the Woodstock Fanshawe Singers during Jeff's fourth term as composer-in-residence. Beginning quietly with harp (which may also be played by piano) this piece develops the atmosphere of an approaching rain. Hushed singing gives way to rising tension as the storm gets nearer. Resolution occurs as the voices again become quiet. The ending is given to solo harp.
