This collaborative composition was the result of a text writing competition among choir members where the composer proposed to set the winning text. Rebecca McIntyre's text concisely captures the essence of Christmas and winter from which the composer expanded the prose into an SSA word painting. The musical setting combines layered canonic vocal lines, representing the lightly falling snow of winter, with moments of pause, representing a delicate view of the Nativity scene.
