Commissioned by the Georgian Bay Concert Choir as a piece that would reflect the history of the city of Owen Sound, Ontario. The Long Journey portrays several different backgrounds without being specific to any of them, making it accessible to choirs in general. Treble voices are given a line independent of the soprano line, highlighting their unique vocal qualities.
