As the Moon Passes Overhead
composer: Ron Tyler
A slow, dissonant introduction opens the piece, reflecting upon the ancient mysteries many cultures have had concerning the moon. A brief Moderato, less dissonant but still ominous, builds to a restatement of the introduction. The Allegro section features low voices under uneasy upper voices, leading to D major. A 6/4 section then returns to the initial mood, continuing with a plaintive melody to the end.
