Cave Paintings is a five movement work for alto sax and piano, written for the very talented Ephyra Duo made up of Charlotte Bradburn (saxophone) and Adam Caird (piano). Based around Richard Nye's time living on the Isles of Scilly, the work attempts to capture the environment - one movement includes notes created from wax cave rubbings on manuscript. Cave Paintings was first performed and recorded at the Banff Centre, Canada in 2002 for Ephyra Duo's début CD, Modern Standards.
